Jolene Krussow
Been with the MSO since: 1999
Hometown: Blue Earth, MN
Education: Graduated from Bethel College, St. Paul, MN
My day job: Work for Faribault County as a P.T. secretary in the County Attorney's Office and in the County Library Service (total of 4 days a week), and also work one day a week as a secretary for New Horizons Adoption Agency, Inc.; both employers in Blue Earth.
Earliest musical memory: Listening to my brother and sisters practice their instruments and going to their concerts, attending area classical concerts with my parents, and starting piano lessons in 2nd grade, strings in 5th grade.
Favorite thing about performing music: Knowing where I/we started and seeing and hearing what we've accomplished at concert time.
Other instruments I play: piano
The composition I would most like to perform: On the lighter side, I always thought it would be fun to perform some Leroy Anderson music...., love Beethoven, & Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, classical guitar piece...
Best part about being an MSO musician: For me as a single parent, rehearsals and concerts are a great & much needed time "away" with fun hard working people; being challenged musically; performing
Other interesting facts(s): I have 3 great kids, I love to read, and we live on the farm I grew up on with my mom.
