Mankato Symphony Orchestra

Kenneth Freed—Music Director

Richard Weber

Been with the MSO since: 1957 (the first time I played with the orchestra) 1986 ( at this time I became a full time member)

Hometown: Mankato, Minnesota

Education: DMA in clarinet performance, University  of Minnesota

My day job: Teacher, Gustavus Adolphus College, Minnesota State University, Mankato

Earliest musical memory: Meeting Robert Northenscold for my first clarinet lesson with him in 1955

Favorite thing about performing music: It provides more satisfaction than anything else I do.

Best part about being an MSO musician: the opportunity to perform literature that is new to me.

Other interesting facts(s): I like fishing, hunting, motorcycling, home construction projects, and travel.
