Carmen seduces Don Jose away from his faithful love Micaela and draws him into a life of crime, only to abandon him for the bullfighter Escamillo in this dramatic semi-staged production of Bizet's classic opera. Rising stars from the Minnesota Opera's Young Artist Program play the lead roles. Sung in French with English titles broadcast above the stage.

Jazz trumpeter Charles Lazarus debuted at Carnegie Hall at age 19, played in the Dallas and Candian Brass, and brings the magic of a bygone age to Mankato. Hear Big Band classics by Cole Porter, George and Ira Gershwin, and Fats Waller alongside some original compositions in a concert dedicated to someone you love.
