Twin Cities native Kelby Strobel began taking violin lessons at the age of seven. She has studied with some of the best violinists and violin pedagogues in the Midwest. In December 2015, Kelby graduated from the University of Minnesota, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance.
Kelby performs as a soloist, in chamber groups, and in orchestras across Minnesota. In 2016, she was named Principal Second Violin of the Mississippi Valley Orchestra. Kelby also enjoys teaching violin and viola lessons; her Minneapolis-based studio is thriving, and her students perform regularly with Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies,
Minnesota Youth Symphonies, and their local school orchestras.
Kelby joined Mankato Symphony in the September 2017.
She lives in Minneapolis with her husband, Tyler. They met while attending the University of Minnesota School of Music.
