Kristen Haug is a freelance hornist, orchestral musician, and private instructor in the Minneapolis area. In addition to performing with the Mankato Symphony Orchestra, she has performed with the Minnesota Orchestra, La Crosse Symphony Orchestra, and as a member of the pit orchestra in Artistry productions at the Bloomington Center for the Arts. Kristen earned her MM in horn performance from the University of Minnesota, where she studied with Michael Gast, and BA from Luther College under the instruction of Dr. Rebecca Boehm Shaffer and Dr. Stacie Mickens. During her time at the University of Minnesota, Kristen held the position of principal horn in the Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, and was also involved in various small ensembles, including wind quintet, brass quintet, and horn quintet. She has toured with ensembles throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan.
