Guest artist and composer Brent Michael Davids and Music Director Ken Freed talk to the kids. Over 2,000 fourth and fifth graders attended this year's Youth Concerts, sponsored by Target and Xcel Energy. The MSO performed two of Davids' compositions, Honoring Kwa'apogee and Black Hills Olowan. Freed and Davids discussed the similarities and differences between Western Classical music and traditional Native American music. |

The Maza Kute Drum Group performed as part of the orchestra and then perfomed some solo pieces as well. The sound of their drumming and singing captivated the audience and the orchestra musicians alike. |
