This is Ruth's third season with the Mankato Symphony. She was formerly principal cello of the Atlanta Phillharmonic Orchestra, the Gerogia Philharmonic, and the Rome (Georgia) Symphony Orchestra. She holds a Master of Music degree in cello performance from The University of Texas at Austin, where she was a conductor and cello instructor in the renowned UT String Project, and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Indiana University-Bloomington.
Ruth currently teaches cello at the New Ulm Suzuki School of Music and maintains a private cello studio. She's also a cashier at the St. Peter Food Co-op, and was previously an archivist and oral historian at The Breman Jewish Heritage and Holocaust Museum in Atlanta. Ruth grewup in Oak Ridge, TN.
